i have had a long week. the week was tiring but productive. i spent 3 days in chicago at the annual Partner Con put on by Pictage. I then drove up to Aspen and spent the day meeting with wedding coordinators and catering managers at the Hotel Jerome, Little Nell and the St. Regis Hotel. Partner Con is a conference for photographers and i will be blogging about that soon, so check back for more details of the week.
i wanted to blog about how blessed i feel and why. you know those little epiphany moments that you get every once in awhile? i had a teacher once who called them the aha moments. these are moments when you are able to stand back and see your life from outside of yourself and you are able to truly SEE. i had one of those moments last night. here is what happened:
we got home late. my wife is always in bed before me as i do my little puttering around the house. last night was no different and when i finally went to the bedroom to get ready for bed i stepped into a room filled with that AHA moment. the room was lit only by a small night light for ian. my wife and son were backlit by this tiny and beautiful light. my wife was singing soft lullabies to our baby boy as she caressed him to sleep. i was frozen with the beauty of this moment. this is my beautiful family that god has blessed me with. a wife that is so loving and kind, who loves her two boys with everything she has and a beautiful, healthy and so laid back son who has brought so much happiness to our home. it was a sudden realization of just how rich i am. as i stood there watching this moment, i suddenly wanted to capture that feeling with my camera, i wanted so bacly to just dump all of my feeling straight through the lens and have this moment captured forever. i ran upstairs for my camera and tried to pour my feelings through the lens. i'm glad i did. these photos will be a constant reminder of my blessed life. thank you God for my family.
You are SO incredibly blessed!! What a beautiful wife and narrative! :)
