vail, breckenridge and back

can i just say i love my job!  there aren't too many jobs that i know that allow you to take a beautiful mountain drive with your family, visit a gorgeous hotel, have lunch with your family and get your business done all at the same time.  it truly is a blessing.  yesterday, i met with the wedding coordinator at The Ritz Carlton Bachelor Gulch Alisa Vansant who is positively down to earth and so pleasant to to talk to.  as a wedding photographer in colorado there aren't too many places that i'd rather photograph then this beautiful location...incredible.  here's a few photos of the hotel if you have never seen it.

we also took a walk through breckenridge and had lunch at the Fiesta Jalisco which has great mexican food.  ian's grandpas has been here this week and we really enjoyed showing him a little more of colorado.  here we are enjoying the great mexican food.

some of you may know that my wife has been pregnanat.  well, we finally had our little boy. his name is IAN JAMES CHRISTIANSON and he is sooo perfect.  we couldn't be happier.  if anyone would like to check up on his progress you can check him out here:  ian christianson  here are just a few photos taken the day he was born.

rockstars

chris and katie humprheys the rock star wedding photographers from santa barbara were in denver this weekend to shoot a wedding.  we were fortunate enough to meet up with them on their whirl wind tour of colorado.  jenna, matt and katie of jenna walker photography (all three of them rock star photographers in their own right) also graced us with their presence.  it was a fun evening with good, down-to-earth people, talking about photography, my favorite type of evening.  my wife made it another evening without popping out our son who is due any day now!  can't wait.

the onelight workshop

i am always looking for something new to learn, to be inspired by someone or something new.  well, last week i found it.  my friend and colleague jenna walker told me about a workshop she was going to here in denver.  i checked it out and signed up.  the workshop was the one light workshop and it was simply amazing.  Zack Arias is an amazing music photographer in atlanta, georgia and he is shooting some amazing images of bands down there.  Check out his website and vote for his best image.  there are many reasons that Zack is so specail, but one of them is his ability to light.  the workshop started at 9:30 am went pretty much non-stop until 11:30 pm.  it was one of the best workshops i have ever been to.  wow what a learning experience.  our gracious host was denver's own bryce boyer who runs a cool studio here in denver. he is doing some amazing work and has inspired me to keep learning more.  thanks zack and bryce for an amazing experience.  here are a few shots from the day:

christmas in california

charlene and i had a whirl wind of a christmas in california. a flight from colorado to southern cal. we jumped from a wonderful baby shower to an early christmas with my parents.  another flight to northern cal. another early christmas with charlene's dad near yosemite and finaly christmas day with charlene's mom in sacramento.  we are sitting in the airport waiting to fly back to denver to see what three feet of snow looks like.  we are tired but happy to have spent some good times with family.  we hope you all had a wonderful christmas.  blessings.
